18+ account holders only
Only people aged 18 or over may create or control an account. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 and can agree to these terms.
People under 18 do not hold accounts. Youth participation is represented only through adult-managed, ageless, aggregate structures; the platform is not intended to collect an individual minor's name, date of birth, school, address, email, or phone number.
Using the service
Ireland Sports Day helps people discover sports activity, lets authorised adults and organisations submit or manage event information, and supports public stories and aggregate participation. Features may change, pause, or be withdrawn where needed for safety, law, reliability, or campaign operations.
Temporary takedown and service closure
We may take all or part of the platform temporarily offline, or permanently close the service, where this is needed for safety, law, reliability, campaign operations, or another legitimate reason. We will aim to give proportionate notice where circumstances allow.
If we close the service, we will follow the retention and erasure approach in the Privacy notice. This may include deleting or anonymising personal data, while retaining only anonymised aggregate statistics and any limited records that must be kept for a legal obligation, dispute, or legal claim.
Participation claims
A participation claim stores its event, participation type, adult attestation, accepted disclaimer version and submission timestamp. Separate verification and fraud-control records store the verified email address, hashed verification token, verification status and timestamps, and the verification-request and claim IP addresses. Claim and rights-request actions also create audit and provenance records.
We use this information for participation counting and fraud control. Our provisional legal basis is our legitimate interests in measuring participation and protecting the integrity of campaign reporting.
These terms require claim identity data to be deleted or anonymised at campaign wind-down. Today, verified erasure requests trigger automatic anonymisation; scheduled wind-down enforcement must be in place before campaign closure.
You can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to this processing through the privacy request form.
Exact claim counts are for authorised operations and are not shown on public event cards by default. Ireland Sports Day may publish bands only after the event, at its discretion; it does not publish exact claim counts.
Acceptable use
You must use the platform lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- impersonate another person or organisation, misstate authority, or submit false claims;
- upload unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, abusive, deceptive, or rights-infringing material;
- submit personal data about a minor or publish private contact, roster, health, or safeguarding information;
- interfere with security, access controls, availability, or other users; or
- scrape, automate, or reuse the service in a way that breaches law, these terms, or a person's rights.
Stories and other user content
You keep ownership of content you submit, including stories. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it. You give Ireland Sports Day a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, format, display, and distribute that content within the service for as long as it is needed to operate the feature.
We may review, restrict, edit for safety or formatting, refuse, or remove content that breaches these terms, creates safeguarding or privacy risk, infringes rights, or is otherwise unsuitable for the platform. We may preserve relevant records where needed to investigate a report or meet a legal duty.
Operating identity
Ireland Sports Day is the operating identity of an independent volunteer initiative. It is not run, sponsored, approved, or certified by any government department, public authority, national sports authority, or Sports Governing Body. Public or licensed data, organisation listings, and event references do not create an affiliation, endorsement, verification, or agency relationship.
Account restriction or closure
We may restrict, suspend, or close access where reasonably necessary to protect people or the platform, investigate misuse, comply with law, or enforce these terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the decision and provide a route to raise a concern.
Service limits and liability
The platform is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. Event details, organisation listings, third-party data, and links may be incomplete or change. You remain responsible for checking activity suitability, organiser requirements, safety information, and travel arrangements. Ireland Sports Day is not responsible for the acts or omissions of event organisers or third-party services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ireland Sports Day is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts. If you are a consumer, any mandatory rights or protections that apply where you live remain unaffected.
